Some thoughts from today's Women and the Future of Science conference at the
@royalsociety.org
: - Pretty impressive to get this many exceptional scientists in one room, never mind that most of them are women - Questions from secondary school pupils were brilliant and incisive, the future is bright!

Everyone always says Sugababes are the Ship of Theseus but isn't it also just every sports team ever? (Brought to you by watching the Fulham game highlights for the first time in a while and recognising absolutely nobody)

in 2021 you'll read a cool paper by someone working at the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing and you'll think about contacting them to set up a collaboration; it's very important that you send that email

Someone please tell me why, to find the commodity code that applies to laptops, I have to look in the chapter of the UK Online Tariff that deals with NUCLEAR REACTORS 😭 people who deal with import/export for a job must be on another level for lateral thinking

Meet Dr. Sophie Meekings, a speech neuroscientist studying what happens in your brain during a conversation. Despite growing up deaf and not taking science A-Levels, Sophie’s passion for language led her to a PhD in neuroscience.

I really like the idea of interviews on "current status and future challenges in brain imaging". I do NOT like that 14 of 15 interviews are with men. Who is missing from this list? We have lots of amazing neuroimagers who aren't men.

love to go on a little treasure hunt across the city for my medication thanks to a global shortage! Also love the clerical error that has led to my repeat subscription being half as much as I actually need, meaning I get to do this AGAIN in 14 days 🥰

The courgette plants have been turning it OUT just in time for our kitchen to be out of action (the ceiling needs reinforcing so it's been full of scaffolding and mortar dust). Everyone who sees me is getting a compulsory courg, no opt-outs. 🌱
