Something I'm seeing a lot of is volunteer service operators moving those services to a different account. I wonder if making it easier to do that would be a good thing to lobby the devs for.

Also do not follow those aggregator accounts that post a bunch of stolen pictures of foxes or whatever without any attribution. I've seen a number of those cycle through various identities - they may be just trying to accumulate a lot of followers so they can sell the account to some bad actor.

To be clear, we do have plans for scaling, we just kinda expected more than a couple days notice before getting blasted with a million new users a day. The team is rapidly deploying fixes and new software to adapt. More servers in the mail.

Comment thread on content scrapers. If you want to follow content aggregator accounts, follow the ones who give credit. Account that posts stuff without asking permission or crediting = block.

One nitpick in Eric's thread is that Bluesky does not have instances. Everyone is and always will be on the same network. Migrating away from Bluesky PBLLC would be more like finding a different internet service provider than all moving to a different internet.
