Friendly reminder that dishwashers made after 1995 or so are so water and energy efficient that even if you ran them twice fully loaded it would still use less water than handwashing the same load. So many "green" things feel like sacrifices. Dishwashers are not one of them.

tbc: I consider this to be [a step toward, if not outright] defacto ACA repeal, because the GOP realized the covenants on insurance (preexisting conditions etc) only matter if you *actually have a policy* by killing the financial stuff (medicaid recs, 2021 expanded credits), you can kill the law.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office. No matter how they voted last night, every one of them has a say in maintaining Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin as their caucus leaders. Every one of them is accountable here.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person. The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person. People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. Itās about peopleās lives. And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable. We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trumpās $40 billion bailout for Argentina. A vote for this bill is a mistake.

Why has the government been closed at all if Senate Dems cave now? Didn't they say that they could not go along with throwing millions of people off health care? What's materially changed? A *promise* is not action. ALSO fascists lie and I've been told by some Senate Dems that the GOP is fascist.
