I might be in the minority, but Rob Thomson should’ve trusted Luzardo to figure it out. Dave Roberts let Blake Snell figure it out and it worked.

It’s been that type of series for the Phillies. It’s the little things.

Once again, this Phillies’ offense cannot get out of its own way.

For the Phillies to get the win tonight and go to LA tied 1-1, I believe Jesus Luzardo has to give you at least 6 innings, with not many walks and at least 7 Ks. As for the offense, the Turner, Schwarber, Harper trio needs at least 5 combined hits between them.

I see the Eagles did their best Phillies’ impression today against the Broncos.

Before last night happened, the Phillies had played 20 postseason games in Philadelphia where they took a lead of 3+ innings into the 6th inning. Their record in those games was 19-1, with the fabled 15-14 game in the ‘93 World Series as the only loss. Now…make that 19-2

It’s cool to see Arnette getting call up for Week 5. He had a good UFL season with the Houston Roughnecks and was able to parlay that into an opportunity with the Texans this summer.

For as much as the Eagles’ passing game hasn’t looked great, the rushing numbers aren’t super spectacular either. Saquon Barkley is only averaging 3.1 yards per attempt this season (second-worst mark in his career. And I would say part of his struggles is due to the offensive line underperforming.

This isn’t 2023 bad as some fans may like to think… that said, Patullo needs to be on his A-game with getting this offense in rhythm and stacking plays.

If this is the case, Carson Wentz will be the starter against the Eagles.

I asked A’ja Wilson about the Aces’ fourth quarter. Wilson: “Our defense has to win the basketball game. [Phoenix] is too good … We knew we couldn’t go basket for basket … Our zone helped us a lot.” Wilson said they didn’t have a lot of time to practice the zone.
