Quentin Grimes’ qualifying offer (and his remaining leverage) expire tonight at 11:59 PM EST. Expect some type of update today.

It looks like Jared McCain underwent his procedure today. If Shams’ reported 4–6 week timeline is accurate, that would place his potential return between October 28 and November 11, assuming no setbacks.

It’ll ultimately be a ‘wait and see’ type of thing with Embiid this year, but the early results seem promising so far.

Listen, man. You can’t still be a restricted free agent in late September asking for $25M a year and expect the Sixers to just say ‘sure.’ If you’re genuinely upset they declined that, that’s just not knowing your market or reading the situation.

Per @ShamsCharania, McCain will miss 4-6 weeks which would suggest a mild UCL tear. He IS getting what is likely a minor procedure done to address it. This means McCain could return a week or two into the season, with the higher end being the middle of November.

Somewhat unexpected heading into the season, but there’s a wide-open role in the starting lineup alongside Maxey. With the McCain injury and a potential Grimes holdout, VJ Edgecombe might have a clear runway from day one.

Man, this sucks. Brutal. Generally speaking, a mild UCL tear can take 4-6 weeks to recover from without surgery. More severe tears require surgery, with a 8-12 week recovery time. Either way, it looks likely that McCain will miss some time to start the year.

Looks like the ‘01 Sixers court remaster has some tweaks: paint goes from blue to black, no blue circle at center (logo enlarged), and a new two-tone wood design inside the arc not seen on the old court. Not a 1:1 copy, but it doesn’t need to be. I’m good with modernizing it.
