Heads up on the new Affinity program. You can tell them not to use your content to train AI, BUT, there is another AI setting that is on by default until you turn it off. You need to go to your account settings and switch it off. I just found it switched on by default.

Danger has a thread here. I'm trying to understand what just happened with Affinity, an alternative Adobe-like suite that's like a worse Pixelmator. It got bought by Canva, a crappy subscription AI tool, so when they started teasing some big change everyone was worried. What seems to have changed:

Sooooo it's the 30th... and now Affinity is also Canva and is also free? I wanna be excited about this--if this new app has everything v2 had, it would renew my desire to learn a productive layout workflow--but I'mma be honest, 'it's free because Canva Premium users pay for AI' doesn't inspire me.

Glad I got Affinity Suite 2 when I did, because they're going to be utterly wrecking the software from here on out. You'll have to 'rent' access to it, they'll lock features, and are going hard-core into AI (in fact, they're charging people to access it). Enshitification begins now.
