In today's"security theatr ehelps no one." Sekhmet's FULLY SEALED can of wet food had to be thrown away, because it contained "too much liquid" I *was* offered to be escourted outside to drain the liquid, go through security a 2nd time, and force the whole plane to smell wet cat food for 2 hours.🫩

Because I won't really be able to do any of my normal work while I'm with my mom, so I decided to print my taxes paperwork. And wasn't prepared to feel the crushing weight of seeing stuff from my dad + the documents from February (bird flu) 😵‍💫 Grief and trauma are difficult, unpredictable beasts.

So, I recently texted my mentor (who lives by my parent's) about figuring out a future date to bring sekhmet down to repeat the Uhtred pairing. This is... not the event I wanted, but I'm going to fly down with Sekhmet and maybe we'll have some kittens in a few months I can tell my mom to visit. 🥺

Getting my dad to take his health seriously had been an uphill battle for us. It turns out he had self-recorded his blood pressure that morning and he decided not to tell my mom that it was dangerously sky high, probably because he knew she'd rush him to the hospital and he didn't want to go. :<

My dad just died. .... I had 10 days to go until the anniversary of my worst year date to date, so at least February being the worst month is consistent.

The more we talk about and encourage people in our online communities to get involved with local politics, the more stuff like this will come up. I'm just working with cat shows, but I'm sure the local ____ union may be making AI posters, and it's PROBLEMATIC, but also a low priority fight.

When you see an artist working with a NON ARTISTIC club or organization that is using AI work, please reconsider commenting solutions you *think* should happen unless you plan to actually take the time to email the actual organization your idea. Otherwise it just puts us on eggshells.

I say this with kindness, but part of why I'm having to offer to FREELY LICENSE HUNDREDS OF PIECES OF MY WORK is because I'm frankly exhausted at everyone loudly asking ~>me<~ why an organization, run by offline folks on tight budgets with no idea artistic folk hate AI, isnt doing X Y Z differently.

V has been redoing his office so I can fit a drafting table down there. He paints Warhammer figurines, so downstairs is FULL of painting supplies, and it dawned on me that we can combine my supplies with his. Anyway, I just realized I can DOORDASH a drafting table, which amuses me greatly.

I would like Bebop to stop walking me up by 6:40am because she gets really excited when I use the bathroom. This is a new development, and it's the highlight of her stupid cat brain to wake me up just enough that I need to pee, granting her the chance to sit on my lap. Why are cats goblins?

We went to Raven's Manor last night for V's birthday (a haunted house-themed bar/restaurant) and I think they should rename it Crow's Manor, because apparently it's where the Portland crows roost at night. The interesting cat breeds frequently suffer from hypertyping and since cat breeds aren't as dramatic as dog breeds most people aren't aware that this is Actually Bad, like the Frog Bulldogs are BAD. Sphynx have the WORST of it right now. So folk import these for breeding thinking they are NEAT.

I see so many videos where people go "wow cats are so unpredictable" and it's always them rough petting a cat who's giving them numerous discomfort signs, and then turns to bite them. Learn their body language. Lip licking, ears turning, tail swishing, = overstimulation = be gentle please.

I'm really confused when people proclaim with their whole ass that AI saves them 20 hours a week. I know what current AI offers, and it's mostly just removing the human touch in our daily lives. I WANT to read and write my own emails! I WANT to read messages from friends in their own words.
