Today’s project was picking and juicing Tarocco blood oranges. This variety seems to have the least red flesh, but as this tree keeps producing fruit into March and April, the red develops more. I’ve made a lot of marmalade so far, but there’s so much fruit this year, it’s juice time 😉

I just finished Virginia Giuffre’s memoir Nobody’s Girl. It is as bad and even much worse than I’d expected. Her strength in even putting all this down into writing is so admirable. The idea of her suffering anew each time she talked about her abuse, yet continuing to do so, hit me very hard.

We just watched Sunday Best, a documentary on how Ed Sullivan stood up to racism and how his revolutionary show showcased many musicians of color despite corporate pressures not to. We grew up watching his show, but the contextual background info was new to us. Recommended!
