The benefits I get from a robust public library system far, far outweigh any royalties I could ever get from book sales. That being said, it would still be cool if every single one of you bought 2-3 copies of my book brand new

last fall I wrote something about why it’s good for poly people to talk about their experiences. one reason: a partner’s manipulative behaviour can be couched in progressive rhetoric. This is especially true when the person being manipulated is encouraged to stay quiet

Why Poly People Do, Actually, Have to Talk About it
“Why do poly people always talk about it?” is a common but unjust response to polyamorous dynamics. Here’s why talking about polyamory is actually helpful.

was at a cafe this morning talking about books and politics with my friends when a woman with the word “dyke” embroidered on her denim jacket came up. She said, “sorry to eavesdrop, I just moved here and you seem like the type of people I’d like to be friends with.” so we invited her to sit with us

Listen. I have believed that lack of housing supply has been responsible for rising rents-it makes sense!-but it becomes harder truth to swallow when it’s coming from a REIT that generated returns of nearly 40% on 20,000 seniors homes. What a series of sentences.

This would be catastrophic. Red alert for housing advocates. This is one of the few bulwarks left in the province for protecting existing affordability. This government refuses to focus on making *new* supply easier beyond bare minimum reforms, and this reads like we're being governed by a REIT.

If there really are a lot of units sitting vacant because landlords don't want to rent them out - and I'm pretty skeptical of that claim - hit them with a vacancy tax. Make it a money loser to hold on to investment properties that no one is living in.

Honestly, look at this shit. When tenants called for an end to LTB delays, they didn't call for an end to justice. That's what Bill 60 does: it eliminates backlogs by eliminating avenues for justice for tenants. When tenants called for an end to eviction loopholes, Ford widened them. Heinous.

Punishing encampment residents instead of providing the housing people need costs more than anyone wants to pay — ethically, morally, and fiscally. In Ontario, we can’t afford to import this cruel American approach. SPT co-signs this letter.

Today, I released a letter, signed by 67 organizations working across Ontario, asking the Ford government to rescind Bill 6. We can't adopt Trumpian policies to punish encampments; people need proven solutions — especially housing. Read our letter:

"Witches got due process" is why we use the term "witch hunt" to refer to the process of investigating credible allegations of witchcraft, which are then advanced as charges only if and when there is sufficient evidence to charge and a public interest in their prosecution and/or burning.
