The issue is not whether the US is deliberately targeting civilians in Iran. The issue is what DOD's rules of engagement are in terms of how much risk they permit of mistakes (target vetting/validation) and/or collateral damage (taking into account civilians who are adjacent to a military target).

The most salient thing about Senator Mullin would seem to be his endorsement of the Big Lie about the 2020 election. That should certainly come up in hearings about running an organization that Trump allies (improperly) associate with elections.
