This is huge news. There's not another Dem in NC with the name recognition and respect that Cooper has. He's the only one who could beat Lara Trump if she decides to run.

I was raised in a white evangelical Southern church in rural NC. And I do mean raised. We were at church at least 4 times each week. Their "creed" has always been white supremacy. "Stand for the flag, kneel for the cross" has been their ethos my whole life.

I feel for the families of special needs children. The IEP and 504 programs are often the only things that allow our children to access education effectively. Without the federal Dept of Ed, special needs children in red states will not be adequately educated. This is a massive societal failing.

The Supreme Court is out of control. To allow the president, without any explanation, to unilaterally dismantle agencies created by an Act of Congress is to endow the president with sovereignty. There is no justification, because they haven’t given one. Our country is in big trouble.
