Today’s tourist shopping in Vienna was dominated by me finding this glorious 1974 West German pressing of #marcbolan and #trex classic LP #zincalloy 🤩🤩🤩🤩

The other thing we’ve noticed here in Austria is that, like Germany, we don’t get automatically spoken to in English. Elsewhere in The EU they seem to recognise we aren’t locals. But we must look the same as Germans/Austrians because we get spoke to in German first. I reckon it’s the genes 💅🏼

I have to be honest, I’m not a fan of saying ‘Grüß Gott’ when I’m on the continent. Its religious meaning disturbs me. So I stick to the more neutral ‘Guten tag’ and that’ll have to do. Religion makes me squirm - although I quite like the subtle understatement of god shop decor. 💅🏼

Me and the wife have sat in a tourist caff in stephansplatz as my feet were killing me. The waiters are ignoring us but I don’t care as I just wanted to sit down anyway. We have to be inside because outside all you smell is the stink of smoking. They all do it here. Even babies.

The BA flight out yesterday was marvellous - and we just beat the crowds when the Russian cyber attack hit. A rather stern lady you wouldn’t pick a fight with boarded us all at the gate, one by one with her mobile phone.
