I voiced a character for a whole animated video series for YouTube and once I turned in the recordings for the whole thing the director told me they were recasting me At least I got paid!

And so for 2026, let's keep it simple 1. Finally get married 2. Don't go completely broke (from getting married and other assorted things) 3. Survive If professional stuff happens, great, but I'm gonna try not to beat myself up about it if that needs to sit by the wayside

Amazon has rolled out AI dubbed anime and I’m truly appalled. Like it or loathe it, the medium has a rich, incredible history of English performances. There’s already a million reasons to hate Amazon, but fuck me. I wanna hear about your fav dub. Your fav VA. Let’s celebrate these folks. 💜

We all agree that these "dubs" suck. But once again, that's not the core problem here. The quality will inevitably improve, though I personally doubt to the quality of a dub made by actual humans who care. The problem is that these exist AT ALL. They're an offense to art, and always will be.

Exactly. That kind of mentality is how you get translations like the infamous “master of unlocking” line from Resident Evil’s original English release. The sentence structure of the original line would sound hideously awkward if translated verbatim without that context.

Absolutely fuck this, man This is what happens when you treat every piece of art you license like just another line of a spreadsheet This is what happens when you reduce work that real people put so much love into down to fucking content slop that you shovel out for as cheaply as you can

I've been staring at this screenshot and all I can feel is scared. I am scared for myself, my peers, and the entirety of the Voice Acting industry. If this continues to be normalized then we all will lose. Please let Amazon know you want art for humans by humans without any form of generative AI.
