It is also wild to me that "but disabilities would all be cured!" is the arguement, rather than something people are ever afraid of & see as dystopian. Disability is *natural*. If you live long enough, you become disabled in one way or another 🤷‍♀️ The chances of you becoming disabled are NEVER 0!

I have said it before and I'll say it again: The inability to accept the presence of disabled people in sci-fi, fantasy, and futuristic works is a skill and empathy issue 😅 Any assumption of cure/eradication of disability is firmly rooted im ableism & eugenics ideology, conscious or not.

Some of my favorite stories I've read this year. My particular favorites were "Mary, Mary" and "Feu Amour," which were haunting. I also very much enjoyed the characterization of Herringford in "Plea Deal." I'll be keeping an eye on this writer, and so should you.
