Ever since I can remember (at least since the Beast era), I've treated myself to a Christmas Transformer. Well, this year I've broken that habit, and my Christmas Metal Cardbot has arrived. Now I just have to resist opening Tigun for a month.

Last Heavy Iron post for the night, and it's the obligatory size comparison. I keep saying how big this figure is, but it's only when you put it next to a standard sized figure that you can see just how much heft this toy actually has. As for a bigger toy, it stands on par with Black Zarak.

It's astounding how far the Metal Cardbot line has changed in two years. Both toys are still huge fun, but the new version just takes every bit of charming jankiness, and turns it into something truly brilliant.

Oh, and it's totally possible to attach the dragon armour in truck mode

Heavy Iron's transformation is fun, but maybe not as clicky-clacky tactile as the original. The big difference is that there is no partsforming to the trailer this time. The cabs are a similar size, with the new version being a little leaner looking. Lovely chromed out wheels on the new one too.

It's truck time.

I unfortunately don't have time to transform Heavy Iron now, but I'll be back later this evening to continue gushing over him.

The card armour for this is insane. A dragon head that turns into a chest cannon, a dragon sword that attaches to the standard sword (that turns into a gun, BTW) to make a double sword, and some nifty wings that give Heavy Iron another boost in bulk.

I say this without any hesitation, this is probably the best Metal Cardbot yet. The articulation, the quality of the ratchet joints, and just the overall look of Heavy Iron W is on a whole new level. I haven't even transformed him yet, but just having the toy stood in front of me is breathtaking.

Jobs are done for now, so time to play. Let's see how Metal Cardbot Heavy Iron W stacks up. Just looking at him in the box, and he's a BIG toy.
