When multi-professional working goes well, it makes such a difference for quality of care. It's not just about communicating diverse views (though obvsly this is extremely useful), it also creates a sense of coherence around a person's care- it gives a person confidence & a feeling of being held.

A paean to privatised public transport. Today I had to go from Stockport to Salisbury. So I bought a ticket Stockport > Bristol > Salisbury The drive to Stockport should have taken 35 minutes. Satnav said it would take 2 hours, and I'd miss my train. So I went to Macclesfield, where I found...

The biggest far-right demonstration in British history is a gruesome reminder of how much trouble we are in. Since the financial crash, the direction of travel for the far right across the West has only been in one direction - and that is up.

A word on immigration. Don't prejudge this, just listen to the data, and then consider what the solution is. The UK has a falling birth rate. This means that - unless things change - each generation will be 25% smaller than the one before.

It's realistic that many people will be cautious when they engage with health services- for good reasons. Many people have had previous experiences of poor care, or have been judged or let down. It's important we respect this, & that we seek to offer integrity, honesty, & understanding.
