If you want to quickly figure out if & where a process is writing a logfile, create a filter (ctrl l) in @SysInternals procmon for your process(es) and also Category = Write & turn off registry & network capture in the toolbar

So this has driven me nuts. If you set Default File Associations via Group Policy (I assume Intune policy as well) it is so slow to apply. It does appear Microsoft starts applying it asynchronously, but will block logons until it completes.

During your troubleshooting adventure, it's common that you want to filter to all write access. That's very easy with Process Monitor. You can just filter to Category is Write. That will work for file and registry activities. #sysinternals
