I'm a little surprised that I haven't seen any writing or retrospective work about Life is Strange 2 recently, given, uh, everything going on in America - and what that game talked about.

Over the last 10 months I have been replaying my game of the year for every year since 1985. Now I am on 2025 and it has been an amazing retrospective. I love the medium so much and looking back at the games I've loved has been affirming, from Super Mario to Lost Records. The list:

Bloom & Rage.... I've played lots of amazing heroines - Aloy, Kassandra, Ellie, Ciri, Shadowheart... the list goes on - but I've never related so hard to one as much as I relate to Swann, with her autistic-coded blend of awkwardness and inner strength. More characters like this please!

Just finished Lost Records: Bloom & Rage . I had feels. Cynical reviews again lowered my expectations and I ended up adoring it. Really hope they continue with Lost Records whether that is an anthology series or a straight up sequel. I am so here for it. Now I need a frame for the polaroid.

I can’t stop thinking about this scene, it was the first time a video game made me feel like I was witnessing a private moment between two people that I wasn’t meant to see. It’s such a heartbreaking moment but the feelings and emotions Kat and Swann are feeling is almost palpable. #LostRecords

Looking back at it, it is an absolute travesty that #LostRecords Bloom & Rage didn't get more love. If you haven't played that game and you liked the #LifeIsStrange series, please do yourself a favor and go play that game immediately.

I finished the first half of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage today and I am so shocked at how invested I feel. I am usually more miss than hit with teenage girl characters and stores, but I can’t seem to get enough. I maybe wouldn’t like the characters personalities irl, but I’m so here for them.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is my GOTY for 2025! 🎉👏 Overall strong year for video games, but looking back on all that I checked out, Lost Records still lives in my head, with its heavy narrative, memorable characters, excellent soundtrack, and impressive production quality.

Started Lost Records finally and it really feels like a better attempt at Life is Strange so far wrt portraying awkward and complex teenagers. I’ve also never had a game call me out so hard on my autistic behaviour to the point that it gives me flash backs to adolescence like that.
