Today, we honor the lives lost and the courage of the first responders who were impacted on September 11, 2001. We remember not only the tragedy of that day, but the deep scars it left on families, communities, and our nation.

We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.

I’m not buying the idea that Employers NI rise can be blamed here. a) Wage inflation in the past three years would dwarf the 1.2% rise in NI. b) my experience of recent inflation in the price of a pint suggests that pubs are quite capable of passing on the increase in NI to the consumer.
