I feel bad I haven't been on here in so long. September 2024 I lost my job as a software engineer - well, I was a lead and I live somewhere where there aren't a lot of tech jobs leaving me looking mostly for remote ones. It's been a long slog to be honest.

You know - in these times it occurs to me that one thing that cannot be taken away from any of us is our integrity. I think in these times, it's important to be aware of our own thinking, our own values and not only do we live these values, we model them for others.

I think sometimes efficiency isn't measured in how few people can manage the work of more people; it's properly resourcing a task or operation so you don't lose efficiency to cleaning up the problems caused by understaffing.
