Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is very good (and the 15 hours I've spent with it so far have flown by) but it's easily the most irritating sounding game i've played in years. Just listen to the absolute state of this.

Finished Switch 2 Welcome Tour this morning. I get the complaints, but I really liked it! The minigames were probably the worst bit, but it sang as an interactive guide. It actually reminded me a lot of the Dorling Kindersley interactive PC games from the 90s. Similar vibes!

Hey quick spoiler for the video game Mindseye (2025) but when you beat the game you unlock “free roam mode” which contains quite literally nothing, and you are forced to play as this character by default and can not change anything about him.

A lovely console, this. Feels great in the hands. Tears Of The Kingdom is transformed by the upgrade pack. Knockout Tour in Mario Kart is an inspired bit of multiplayer design. It gets the Liam Seal Of Approval (worthless).

We had a nice chat about the original Switch and debated its position as *the* place to play indie games from 2017 onwards. A fun one (and for us, sort of timely lol).

Thought it'd be mildly fun to replicate a photo of me from when the original Switch launched, and it just made me feel really old. Thanks Nintendo!

This soundtrack goes so hard

I had a bad cold this weekend and I ended up blitzing through Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3 in two sittings. I *loved* it. It's an inventive match 3 puzzle game that weaves together RPG elements with non-linear storytelling to great effect. Also? It's funny as hell. It absolutely rips.

Promise Mascot Agency is *the good shit*. I spent 8 wonderful hours this weekend noodling around, collecting weird objects and saving endearingly freakish mascots from swarms of bees. It's sort of an idle management game crossed with Deadly Premonition?? The vibes are immaculate. I truly love it.

Struggling my way through the new Katamari game on iPhone just to get a hit of the good stuff but, christ, it's rough as hell with touch controls. I assume they'll port it to consoles eventually, and I hope they do. It's good!

Does anyone know how to contact someone at Future Publishing? After asking for a refund for a single issue order, turns out they cancelled my subscription (which wasn't mentioned once in the support thread). No clue how to resolve this.

Tried to order a single issue of Retro Gamer from Future's site. Didn't arrive for a month. Got in touch with support. Got the same copy and paste "we've sent you a new one!" message x 3. Said I'd like to speak to a human. Got a response that my subscription is cancelled and they've refunded me. lol

The story and characters in Split Fiction are so unforgivably heinous that, in a game full of breathless mechanical invention, shouting at the screen is its one consistent gameplay element.
