Spent years building up a big following on Twitter, essential for publicising my aviation blog, which I live from. Desperate to leave it & publicise on nicer platforms, but I have too few follows. If you want to help me escape, do give this a share. Much obliged. My blog here:

I really hope in my lifetime we can go back to making racism something to be ashamed of again, rather than something that’ll get you a regular slot on rolling news.

This is a beautiful piece, heartbreaking and life-affirming at the same time. It will make anyone with children love them even more.

There was a (limited) fashion for putting Gardner diesels in Rolls-Royces and Bentleys for a while. The Gardners were beautifully made and very torquey - and much more frugal than a petrol engine of the time.

It's concerning that the Minister did not explicitly confirm the updated guidance will explain how organisations can lawfully remain trans inclusive. If you want your MP to hold the government to account over this, now is your last chance to tell them. Email them using our tool. Takes seconds 👇

Fuels must be repeated dug up and destroyed so long as we insist on setting old dead shit on fire to survive. We dig up a *lot* of fossil fuels. The world consumes *17 times* more fossil fuels in a year than we will require to electrify the planet *forever*:

How infuriating to hear the chairman(?) of Asda on the Today programme implying that land use for solar farms might significantly hurt UK food production. It's nonsense. Golf courses use more than solar ever will & beef/lamb production is huge yet provides a tiny fraction of our protein & calories.

Honestly the Pleasant Green universe is a phenomenal extended universe and TLI is just magnificent if you enjoy Lovecraftian tales with a nice bit of british spy thriller thrown in for good measure. I honestly could gush about these shows but just experience them however you can.

My immediate thought about this is: if you're required to do (albeit promotional) work in order to accept a prize, doesn't that make it a paid job? Supplementary question: are prizes taxed in the US? They aren't in the UK - but paid work is.
