Every year the media blames patients for inappropriately clogging up ED… when we all know that the data shows the REAL BIG PROBLEM is a lack of investment in community services. THE HOSPITAL IS BLOCKED BECAUSE WE CAN’T SEND PEOPLE HOME.

But every time we try to spend on care in the community the media starts printing garbage about turning into communists, lazy people taking advantage of handouts etc. And the political football is passed around while people sit on plastic chairs for 22 hours.
