On the one hand, if the choice is between Substack and Patreon, the latter is clearly better. But also, yes, building on decentralized tech you control (or can migrate) is ideal and should be encouraged. It's part of why I'm so bullish on @leaflet.pub, which has paid memberships on its roadmap.

99% of my coding experience smh So far, I like the @tangled.org UI much better Github's! It's faster, and I like seeing the commit log per branch right on the main page, rather than having to click into a tiny, hard to find button to see it.

Also! — we know there's lots we can do to help with reader / subscriber experience & discovery in the atmosphere from notifications & email to tags & feeds & other ways of collectively organizing longform content… *for now* though, you'll find some *great* things to read here!

Anyone a Typepad user / interested in working on a migration tool to Leaflet? They're shutting down on short notice; detail in thread. Not familiar with their cms & not sure how much time we'll have to explore this but would love to hear from interested folks & see how we can support!

Ookay, just did a bunch of stuff to improve sync perf in leaflet! Still work to do to ensure when you publish it doesn't publish unsynced content, but that case should be *much* rarer now. Let me know if y'all run into any more wierdness, and appreciate any stress testing!

Leaflet publications now have comments! These are *not* Bluesky posts—it's our own comment lexicon! Right now: simple comment section with nested replies. In the future…lots more ideas (sorting options? likes/upvotes?) first spotted by @ribo.zone - good catch :) lab.leaflet.pub/3lveimjgk3k2v

Maybe a better way of putting this: what do you want to do w/ leaflet docs that's possible on atproto & not possible w/ standalone docs now? I think the obvious ones are things like quotes & comments, and just having the data in open queryable form in your pds…but looking for more concrete ideas!
