When making software that doesn't need AI, - B2B: Put AI everywhere – investors and insecure managers love it. - B2C: Leave AI out, normal people increasingly hate that shit.

Apropos of nothing: what's the point of infinite wealth if you still need to totally debase yourself like an absolute loser. The point of fuck you money is to be able to say fuck you to people.

Something I don't think a lot of people know is that if you're on the board of a company, you can convince them to buy the dying company you invested millions in. So worst-case scenario, you always get your money back. (^_-)

A big reason I can get so many big features like Offline support, or updated pricing, done so quickly and with not many resources is that planning big projects out in a space is *sooooo* much faster than writing up a traditional linear spec doc.

I live next to a tech company that I think could really benefit from using Kinopio for planning projects, retro/meetings, group note-taking. But I don't know anyone there, and I have no idea how I'd even approach talking to them. have any advice/tips for me?

I kinda have this germ of an idea that the biggest threat to Canada's future isn't the USA, it's Calgary: mining, forestry, and other natural resource extraction has the same complacency effect oil had on the middle east.

relatively, not a lot of people know/use/or-care-about mechanical keyboards. But the people who do tend to be way more passionate about them than the promise of a voice-only interface. You can pry my keyboard out of my cold dead hands.

I hate this fucking pop up so much. Google auth is like a tumor on a website, I'm sure it'll only get more malignant over time. So glad I chose to only use my own auth system in Kinopio

Poor business design in action: A word-of-mouth recommendation from a happy long-time user is way more effective than even the most privacy-invasive targeted advertising. Yet because of team silos and data-dependency, most companies spend way more time, money, and effort optimizing for the latter.

I sometimes try out new spatial UIs to see what new ideas they bring to the table. Especially from companies that have raised million$$$ from VCs. 95% of the time they're using something off the shelf. The better ones use tldraw, the slow ones with horrible performance use react-flow.

The futility of silos: Customer service can only tell you that they've "shared your suggestion with the development team". Devs can't talk to customers because they might say what they're working on before marketing is ready to reveal it. People ignore or miss the marketing.

DiscMaster2 can now search for polygons (3D models) and gives you an animated preview of each of the millions of results. You can then search for similar polygons to find exactly what you're looking for.

When I hear “open source”, I think “public code”. Whether I can copy and sell it, including logos and brand names, should a separate label (i.e. “MIT licensed”). The idea that “open” = “public” = “free to copy” ironically keeps many commercial projects closed that could be open.
