Correct me if I'm wrong , but currently the only way for an app to do local LLM processing is to either: 1. Use a platform specific API that calls to the OS provided model? (If it has one) 2. Each app needs to also include it's own multi gb model?

Lists WIP 00004 Snapping cards back into lists because you didn't move them far enough, and passing cards between lists, uses transition animations to make these interactions easier to visually follow

I worked with the original Trello team and I've used every kanban-ish tool that came after, and my goal is to make the best feeling List. In a big company, I wouldn't be able to put so much effort into details like this, but I guess that's what makes indie software different.

List WIP 00003 I can now drag cards into lists and they get placed in the right order. (I'm using a cool technique/lib called fractional-indexing for list ordering, so I shouldn't have to worry about periodically re-balancing list positions)

I accidentally upgraded my Mac to Tahoe, so I thought I’d try it for a couple weeks and then decide whether to go through to annoyance of downgrading. My long-term thoughts are .. it’s .. okay. certainly not better - but also not the discordant mess I was expecting

I've been using Consolas as my monospace programming font for over a decade, but curious about whether there's anything better now. Any modern recommendations? (Keep in mind that I'm not a fan of ligatures for coding)

Lists WIP v0003 just like how you can snap cards into boxes, you'll be able to snap cards together to create lists from them. If the card has a color then the snap guide will use that, otherwise the snap guide will use your user color (green in this case)

Lists WIP v0002 Lists can now be collapsed, and resized. Not sure if collapsing/expanding should be animated or stay instant. The list content area is also now rendered below the connection lines.

Indie devs don't have multimillion dollar marketing budgets, or the benefit of every news website rushing to post articles on every update The best way to support your favorite indie apps- besides paying for them 😄- is to leave reviews, and publicly share what you love about them~

WIP Lists v0000 like boxes, lists are divided into two parts .list-info, and .list-background. .list-background needs to be rendered below connection lines (which i'll do later with vue teleport) sharing this publicly bc it's normal for things to start off looking shitty

Kinopio Year-End Investor Report As you may know, Kinopio is organic software that's completely community funded. But if you're reading this, as far as I’m concerned, you’re invested in the future of Kinopio. ↓ 1/10

📧 I wanted to have the Kinopio year-end bulletin email out today, but I’ll need another day to send it out. Finished the writing today, but I still need to wrap up an illustration, and do a bit of custom email html/css work for it too

The next bulletin email going out to Kinopio users will be a Year-End Strategy Letter. I'm doing something I almost never do, crunching through the many numbers and graphs in my Stripe account. To ease the suspense, I think you'll like what I have to say.

Thoughts on replacing the previous box-to-box-snapping behaviour (which could be finicky and less predictable) with a more consistent target-box-expanding behaviour that works just like cards do?

❓ how important is it to you that the drawing eraser only remove a piece of the drawing, as opposed to the whole stroke (like tldraw/mmm does)? If partial stroke erasing is not actually important to ppl, I can really simplify the drawing system and improve perf for big drawings.

Have you noticed that most software is subscription-only these days? There's good reasons for that – but there are other ways to do what's best for both biz and users. New blog post tomorrow!

Meant to type 'platform' and accidentally typed 'playform'. Maybe a freudian slip, because platforms should be more about play, expression, experimentation and less about mindless consumption and regurgitation.

I think about 'The Web We Lost' by

every time someone says that only OSS, or self-hosted software, can respect users. Tech-nerd only solutions don't help everyone else. I'm not convinced that capitalism can't give us nice things without enshittification.
