This is a priority for us! Would be v interested if anyone has examples of really really good documentation for a consumer/prosumer type product like leaflet.

A nice mobile editing ui was a huge motivation for leaflet from the start so I'm great to hear this. I am also a static site generator sicko at heart but it's super handy to be able to write anywhere easily.

i like labellers for standard site stuff especially because its a fun coordination thing. if you want the benefits of discovery/distribution you gotta submit to being labelled i.e the mortifying ordeal of being known

Building a push channel on email was a good start. Substack showed that blogging wasn't dead, it just needed a business model + distribution channel. But imagine how much more you can do on top of a flexible protocol like ATProto...

love the collections feature! unfortunately the pagination seems to be borked on firefox on desktop for me: I like the flipping, but fwiw I sorta expected the contents to take me to a post and then to be able to just scroll in there.

If I was gonna add lists to leaflet, should they be separate from or layered on top of subscribes?

Ill write more about our collab tech stack some day, but the main thing here is delivering yjs updates over a web socket and also canonically writing to a db synced via replicache, And then comments are special "authenticated facts" in our graph db for docs

i'm pretty stoked about the collab editing stuff we're getting into leaflet this week. honestly pretty table stakes stuff but I think combined w/ atproto identity and how easy it is to make docs make for a really pleasant experiene!

A ttrp called "retellings" where a party does a deed, and then they play a game of telephone (or gartic phone?) around table to find out how the deed gets distorted through history + maybe you can then steal elements from the distorted history to use in the "present"?

should we do machine translation-y things as a pro-feature in leaflet? Not sure the exact flow but think we could do something cool. Would esp be interesting in comments sections and such too!

Was reminded by
@graham.systems
of the "show samples of saved feeds in following" and have had it turned on for a couple days now. Kinda slaps! Adds diversity and provenance, and appreciably breaks up the feeds. These kinds of feed composition things are a direction i'd love to see more of.

kewl idea from

: If I stood up an xrpc endpoint for managing
standard.site
subscription notifications, a getNotifications, and markAsRead, would any bluesky clients be interested in integrating it?

okay but independent of a particular tool for community feature tracking/requests, what even makes a good example of this tool? Has anyone seen examples of projects that use these really really well?

Are there great solutions out there for community feature boards / roadmap type stuff? Would ofc love something atproto native but interesting in what the state of the art is, and what patterns actually work in practice.

"an everything app" = a set of platform apis and human interface primitives that enable the use, distribution, and composition of some basic unit of interaction. This is what the browser does, what iOS does, what whatsapp does, and what can be done again.

pet peeve: very very few interfaces for doing knowledge work contain good drafting tools. if you want people to do good work they need to be able to produce it incrementally! leaflet tries to be good at this but def lots more we can do.

+ ui primitives for navigating between, discovering them, managing them, etc ! (and on all the above, and the ones dan mentions, I don't think they need to look anything like the solutions we already have for these things, new ideas are possible!)

got me thinking too, we should create a standard way for standard site hosts to expose embedable content. Maybe an html subset, maybe just an iframe, maybe something else?

Hmmm I wonder how email subscribes (off protocol currently) should interact here. Maybe permissioned spaces gives us some useful tools? Subscribing via email would be giving the publication access to a permission space that includes your email address ig?
