If your language has null, sometimes null checks can hide bigger problems depending on what you do when you check for null. When a thing shouldn't be null and your system relies on it, crashing on a nullpointer exception can be the right thing to do. The stack trace will illuminate the issues.

Think I'm done with the playing with AI. A fun distraction, but I think I'll be continuing to not use it for various reasons. I'm glad to keep on learning these tools, so if I'm ever in a situation where I NEED to use them, I'm equipped to. But, for my own software I write and release no thanks.

The more I play with LLM coding the more uncomfortable I feel with the whole thing. Not because of some "ai is gonna take all devs jobs" fear. But instead something I can't quite put my finger on. It's fun to play, but something doesn't feel right.
