So first it was a briefing being handed over in hard copy. Now it is an email to a private email address. It's looking like this was a deliberate attempt to avoid information being recorded in official recordkeeping systems in compliance with the Public Records Act.

So I assume the government will now remove the NZTA board? They’re unelected people making decisions for our transport network including overseeing $32B budget over 3 years. Also isn’t the Health NZ unelected? Wait… does ACC board have MPs on it or unelected people? Wait…

This is how you SHIFT THE OVERTON WINDOW BACK like come on, you make it not worth their while to pass extreme antidemocratic unpopular nonsense because the public will dig in for a start, and then you will just switch it back the second they are out.

. High school students who follow the rules of NCEA to best suit their learning are “gaming the system”, which must be thrown out. But MPs taking taxpayer money as a living allowance for properties they own outright is an entitlement they’re comfortable with. 🤔

So after a day of Ikea drawer building these are my reflections: Drawers are the trickiest part of the whole thing. Requires more organisation and you really need to mentally lock in. Invest in an electric screw driver if you can. Assembling them in order from bottom drawer to top helps too.

Update from the IKEA kitchen mines: We've built 11 cabinets carcasses from the Metod range at a reasonable clip today. The draws pop together exceptionally easily so tomorrow's work probably won't take very long. Ridiculously cheap in comparison to Bunnings, Mitre 10 etc.

I find it desperately funny that the reason Chris Trotter gives for real concern about Stanford's new exam regime, that the half who fail will end up going nowhere, is a huge component of PPTA concerns about the changes, while he claims that the PPTA is opposition regardless of the policy.

Why is it important to criticise MPs for accepting an accommodation allowance for living in a property they own? Because accepting that allowance betrays a lack of sense of shame, which in turn betrays a lack of empathy, which should disqualify you from holding power of any kind.
