I agree 100% with Steven Vickers that authors will be falsely accused of using AI in the coming years. In particular, authors like myself whose works were stolen to train AI systems are at risk. When we write in our own unique styles, AI trained on us will quite likely flag us as using AI.

I’m not often petty. In this, I am prepared to be petty AF.

Those with Federal Student Loans: be weary of paying any of them back right now. There is *incredibly* shady stuff happening in our Federal Government as they're trying to restructure our loans from the Department of Education to the Treasury Department. DO NOT PAY.

It used to be that “risking” indie dev careers vs AAA ones was job stability, sometimes better benefits, and pay being debatable depending on the role and location. There’s little to no difference now. Indie devs offer the best options they can (in my experience). The challenge remains funding.

I will also remind people that layoffs are traumatic, please take care of yourselves. And play a simple but repetitive game (Tetris, merge, match 3) to help yourself process.)
