Came home from work early with a migraine and passed out. Woke to discover husband is making turkey meatloaf. I have a blurry memory of my mom making it a decade ago when she flew down to fret over me after a surgery. The official care food. I married a mensch.

It’s been more than a decade since I’ve spoken to my aunt who tried to convince me daycare was going to turn my infant into a serial killer and I feel fine about it. He learned how to take turns and I got to have a job.
