The TL;DR here is that it appears that bots are removing scientific publications unchecked and unsupervised. And that while it was noticed here because it was Max Planck, that doesn't indicate what other publications have disappeared without getting the same level of attention. Not ideal.

I put 60 hours into this to 100% the game, so even putting in 10% of the time would still get its money's worth for six hours of gameplay for $10.

Got a new washer/dryer 'installed' and on first use the dryer nearly fell off. Maintenance started today at "we fastened it, it must've just come loose" and ended at "we don't have the bracket and need to order one", which really casts doubts on that "it must've come loose explanation"
