Art vs artist Not gonna lie, this year was hard, I lost my mother in law and one of my dogs, I also expected to get more illustration work. I did get to go to some cool places, paint en plein air, and made more art than I thought I was going to do this year. I hope 2026 treats me a bit better.

I went on a short trip with my wife and a friend to El Quisco a couple of weeks ago, I haven't been to the sea in a while, it was lots of fun. I had some time to do this plein air sketch, there was so much to look at! So I had to simplify it to get a simple statement. It took me around 45 minutes.

This was the process for my illustration: 1. Thumbnails, though I made many more, but I selected this composition. 2. Value sketch, to figure out the contrast. 3. Color rough. 4. Finished piece.
