Science is a tough career. We are so over-trained in scepticism we end up constantly doubting ourselves. The worst part can be thinking you are alone in your self-doubt. By sharing our common experiences, we hope our new book helps those going through a career crisis:

For our
#flowcytometry
peeps, would you like to have a single fix/perm protocol that is optimised for everything? One that preserves fluorophores while allowing simultaneous TF and cytokine staining? How about 100-fold cheaper? You got it:

Editorial rejection from journal 2 today. This one stung a little, but thatās the game. I have to remember that my PhD paper was passed up by 4-5 journals before getting reviewed! I just gotta keep trying.

Submitted a paper today! Itās out of our hands at this point and up to the editors/reviewers. But Iām proud of the work that went into it, no matter the outcome! I just have to hope others see the science as worthwhile and interesting. Thankful for all the support from co-authors and colleagues.

Scientists are now organizing events, called Stand Up for Science, on 7 March in Washington, D.C., and state capitals. So far, they have attracted more than 100 volunteers from some 30 states who are hoping to rally support for research as a public good.
