His work with stats is terrific and he has a keen eye for pollsters who are herding or putting their thumb on the scales. But once he ventures into political analysis he gets out of his skillset.

Look I despise Nate Silver. He was literally the first big person in politics I ever beefed with (he said impeaching Trump in 2019 would be a disaster), and it happened many more times. But he’s 100% right that his 2016 election call was better than anyone else’s, and probably objectively dead-on.
