As a woman, as a scientist, as a climate policy expert, as a cancer survivor, as a person who will live on this planet for (hopefully) many more decades, I feel dread and profound sadness for the consequences of today's actions by 218 people and Tuesday's actions of 50 people.

Elon Musk casually, and illegally, dismantled USAID. According to a new study in the Lancet, that action will lead to *14 million* premature deaths between 2025 and 2030. Again: Elon Musk is directly responsible for 14 million coming deaths. 4.5 million will be children.

McGovern: "A family making less than $50,000 a year? They get less than $1 a day in tax cuts. You can't buy a damn cup of coffee with that. But those making a million dollars or more? They'll get more than $250 a day in tax breaks ... that's how rigged this bill is to benefit the wealthy."

it’s worth understanding that the future of our energy grid is renewables. not going to change. fossil & nuclear projects take much longer to build. a lot of demand is coming from AI and data centers. this means higher electricity costs for you. you’re paying for these credits going away.

This title should really read "GOP is on the verge of gutting economy." TRYING to make wind and solar economically unviable while deregulating fossil fuels will not only ruin the planet, but hands China and the EU our innovations and IP to profit from. Again. This is so stupid and bad.

My grandfather started mining coal at 10 in PA. He ended his career advocating for worker safety, writing a book on OSHA (which this administration just gutted). He died of cancer, likely related to exposure at a young age. This narrative is wrong and offensive to coal miners.

This new White House executive order says that the US Attorney General is going to prevent states from implementing democratically passed laws regarding climate change and clean energy. It scarcely needs stating at this point that this is wildly, unambiguously unconstitutional. Dictator shit.
