My mom has been in the hospital since Thanksgiving due to kidney failure. Every time she has had positive progress, she has a sharp decline that's just gotten progressively worse. She's delirious sometimes, but she's cognitive enough to know she's in a decline. I just feel helpless.

I want to say that the last few weeks have been hell but my whole world has been on fire for the better part of two years now. It's gotten to the point where I don't even have to wait for the other shoe to drop because a whole FootLocker exploded

Man nothing really prepared you for the gut punch of helplessness you feel when your mother tells you she doesn't want to keep fighting from her hospital bed

Terribly uncanny how relevant this is to today.
