daily routine

One of my favorite experiences during my Christmas visit to meet my boyfriend's family was being included in making tamales on Christmas Eve. I had so much fun learning the process, and I can't wait to try making tamales on my own. I'm so grateful for how welcomed and loved I felt over the trip.

Another semester over, and another round of A's obtained. This semester was more difficult than most. I'm one or two semesters away from receiving my associate's degree. And I've been lucky to receive scholarships that have covered the entirety of my associate's journey thus far.

The turkeys are about halfway done, and the mashed potatoes are ready. Mac and cheese is next up for the oven, then the scalloped potatoes and rolls. Got a few more sides to prep on the stove, and I'm sure I'll fit a vegetable in there somewhere.

Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

I dreamt briefly of #Hathor last night. She was the Egyptian goddess of love, joy, music, and motherhood. She was also a protector of the dead, guiding them safely into the afterlife. This is one of my all time favorite and best pieces IMHO, and very appropriate to my life personally right now. ♥️

Decided to draw this today to plan a watercolor painting for my partner's parents. This is just one half of the painting. There will be another mini-painting, approximately 4.5 inches x 6.5 inches, featuring fireflies on the other half of the paper. I don't often draw or paint flowers or bugs.
