We were not raised religious but went to Catholic school for a better education. I was taught religion there but because I wasn’t a believer I asked A LOT of questions to the point where I didn’t even have to go to the religion classes for the last 2 years I was there. I was too challenging.

This a thousand times, let them decide as my parents did. All 5 brothers ended up with the same conclusion, gods are a human concept. We are atheist because the facts lead you there.

Watching my daughter grow up without evangelical religious trauma is breathtaking. She’s not scared of a hell, or a god who would condemn her to everlasting torture, and she’s never heard of a rapture. Growing up without that fear really does something good to a young person.
