Pulled this real life mythos tome down last night to give it an overdue second look, and after waking up on the garage floor with my eyes bleeding, I gently put it back on the shelf to give it another go next year. 😅

First game of 2026 is back to Traveller tonight. My PC is a shady archaeologist who joined the crew a year ago while fleeing gambling debts. Since then it’s been mad scientists, ancient tech, and now running from corrupt corps. I’ve really come to appreciate the game and look forward to more. 🤘🏻😊🚀

I only played a handful of new-to-me TTRPGs this year but except for a couple of convention one-shots, we opted to play them long enough (>10 sessions) to get a good taste, which I really prefer. Plus, continuing a few years-long campaigns, which is also awesome! Here’s to long plays.

Reading a bit of a long winded rant and I believe the general point being made is that statistically speaking, most TTRPGs out there aren’t for you, but the trick is knowing the difference between “not for you” and “bad” when talk about them, because those usually aren’t the same thing. 🤔

Final weigh in for the year brings the total down to 76 lbs since Jan 1st. Hovering around 330 on New Years, I felt it was time to shed the long weight gain that followed Lockdown, and so here we are. Still have a ways to go to, but for now, I have earned my holiday Lion Bar and Scampi Fries.🦁🍤😅
