It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans. 🧵 1 of 9

Y’all listen. After five days of the worst sickness I’ve had in recent memory, I am finally able to think/breathe/focus normally. This flu is no bullshit. Protect yourself and your loved ones this season. The greatest gift you can give is distance from this bug. Happy, healthy holidays, babies.

It's not just social media. Looks like visitors to the US from Europe and other countries that are part of the visa waiver program will have to submit an enormous amount of data about themselves and their families, including DNA, if proposed new rules are accepted

I recently purchased some nice cashmere sweaters to replace the hoodies I’ve been wearing to work for years. I’m nearly 48. It’s time to stop dressing like a teenaged boy and start dressing like a young man.

Colder air is back today. Highs in the 30s and wind chills in the 20s. Still watching two shots of snow - Friday and Sunday. Snow Potential Index is raised to 4 as we think Sunday could cause accumulation in the area. Forecast details:

I can hear my mid-20s neighbors playing “Closer to Fine” on their guitars and singing. I, a late-40s lesbian, want to tell them, “I was there when the magic was written, kids. I’ll tell you about the pagan celebration of the sacred feminin called Lilithfair that roamed the land. It was the 1990s.”

Home sick today with the toddler in my life. My new name is “Esther mommy” and I can already sing every song from Cocomelon, Dr. Baby Shark, and SuperKitties. The old me wouldn’t recognize the new me. Other than being force fed children’s shows I kinda love this new life.

Remember when the entire Pentagon press corps walked out *together* refusing to sign a new press policy? When is the White House press corps going to stand up for their *female* colleagues who are routinely insulted -- called "Piggy" and "Stupid" -- by the president?

The U.S. House was nearly unanimous in its vote to release the Epstein files — 427-1. The lone ‘nay’ vote was Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA). The bill now goes to the Senate. The vote comes the same day Epstein survivors spoke out against President Trump on the Hill.

I bought a new scarf online from an Irish company. I used Apple pay and the prompt showed me what I was paying in U.S. tariffs. I’ve never seen “tariffs” included in a purchase before. Anyone else see this when they’ve purchased something from overseas companies before or after the trade war began?

As we reflect on the Supreme Court’s denial to hear Kim Davis’ challenge to Obergefell v Hodges, don’t forget that Davis must also pay $360,000 to the couple who’s marriage license she refused to grant. I hope they treat themselves to the best anniversary present that money can buy.

“Worse than expected.” Let’s look at some possible reasons for that: - tried to fire more federal workers while they are already furloughed. - refusing to fund SNAP. - increasing ACA premiums. - groceries still too expensive - Ongoing Nat. Guard deployment (in DC) = $1 million A DAY

Something I noticed the last time I flew in Sept. I forgot to add my KTN and had to go through regular security. The line was almost nonexistent. The Pre-check line was massive and I was through security several minutes before my friend who went through Pre-check. Yes I gloated.
