Zohran Mamdani is the new Mayor of New York City! The people chose change. They voted in record numbers and proved that all the money in the world isn’t a substitute for class. They want progressive policies that benefit everyone. They want affordability. They want a compassionate leader.

A coalition that ranges from democratic socialists to neoconservatives, including a lot of energized liberals in between, is large and formidable. A big pro-democracy tent. A united front. Any internal disagreements can be hashed out once the authoritarian emergency is over. This really can work.

Maybe nobody in the great big world cares about this. But the public libraries in tiny Jefferson County in Northern Appalachia were in danger of losing their tax funding thanks to right-wing book banners. And we won. The library's funding is safe!!!!!

If yesterday taught us anything, it’s that you don’t know what’s viable or what’s possible til you at least try. We actually don’t have to take what we’re given. If enough of us get together and touch and agree we can do, create, and have better.

Mamdani’s win isn’t just good for NYC. It’s good for Dems in general. It shows that voters can be energized again. Young people can be energized. Voter turnout SURGED. People were fired up and got to the polls. I feel very good about 2026 now.

Apparently, we in our "let's repeat the mistakes of WWII and lock up Trans American Citizens like we did Japanese American Citizens" Era. I am literally speechless. My trans friends are the most loving people I have had the privilege of knowing. This is utterly vile. Fellow cis people, SPEAK OUT!

They're openly calling to lock up every trans person by force. We need every ally to speak out forcefully against this because trans folks cannot do this on our own.
