At this point, I'd say that if you truly want to make a difference: Cancel Prime, Netflix, Disney+ ... in fact, cancel all streaming services. Go get a Blu-Ray player and buy DVDs and BluRays from Goodwill or the Library. Buy books from Used Bookstores. Buy stuff locally - community grown

Stop buying books you cannot hold. If you do buy from Amazon, strip the DRM the day it arrives and keep a clean file somewhere they cannot reach. A book on your own drive is yours forever. A book in your Amazon account is yours until a lawyer in Seattle decides otherwise. c: @Hostis on X

I recently watched an interview where actor /comedian Martin Short, talking about his daughter who passed away, said: “She did the best she could until she couldn’t,” and described mental illness as often being a “terminal disease.” We need more compassionate honesty and conversations like this

Thinking about that point in the decaying Roman Empire where all forms of divination came under fire because the Imperial powers had grown so paranoid, the idea of even asking -if- the Emperor might die was seen as a direct attack upon his life (and punishable by death)

Crows remember human faces. For years. If you wrong one, it will tell other crows about you — and they'll harass you too. Even crows that never met you! This is not just a bird. This is one of the most intelligent animals on the planet.

Trump thought he could control the war in Iran. Three weeks in, it’s clear he can’t. Allies have their own agendas, the objectives are unclear, and the political pressure is mounting. History tells us what happens when leaders walk into traps they cannot escape.
