Thread In my youth I thought that having house cleaners was exploitative. The only model I had ever heard of was to employ undocumented workers for a pittance. In my adulthood I understand that the problem with house cleaners was how we TREATED them, not that people cleaned houses.

I urge you to keep things like this in your awareness when discussing labor, class, and the rights & dignity of workers. It's not the *work* that degrades, it's the treatment and compensation. And whatever the task in question, whether house work, sex work, whatever, someone out there needs it done.
