I circumvent the Google AI summaries by setting my default search bar to www.google.com/search?q=%s&... And then I just don't fucking use the plagiarism machines. I ask them for nothing. I refuse to click the "magic" buttons on Canva. I just. don't. use. it.

I had someone a couple of weeks ago try to excuse their use of it with "it's just so hard to avoid." It's not. I avoid it all the time. I nuked Copilot and Gemini from orbit as soon as I figured out how. My work org hasn't turned Gemini off, so I use a browser blocker to hide it.

This is why these companies and the techbros who invested in them are expending so much effort to convince you that reliance on genAI programs is inevitable. It isn't.
