We have a midwife shortage in New Zealand. Many people’s local GPs are crumbling under staffing pressures with wait times for appointments skyrocketing. If NZ First genuinely wanted to prioritise women’s access to healthcare, banning the term “pregnant people” would be at the bottom of their list.
