In our holding cell last night, there were 7 white men, two Black men, and one trans woman. In the women’s cell there was one woman. 7 protesters were released last night. You already know which ones those were and which ones were shackled and transferred to an unknown location.

Get the good PPE out, folks, seriously, especially if you have a uterus. Get gas masks with good filters, not paper masks or N95--those aren't nearly good enough to protect you. Get a full-face mask if you can. Make sure it fits well. They're relatively inexpensive--I'm serious, protect yourself.

We're calling it a night. People continue to peel off. A protester tells us there were six of them total taken, at least one with a head injury. We heard about but can't verify other reports of injuries at this time. Expect some kind of update in the morning.

Three protesters have been released. Still unclear on total actually taken into custody tonight. Folks are currently tending to one.

Updates on this front from Chicago NLG: three protestors arrested before 1 p.m. today have been cited and released; at least one more arrest confirmed as of 5 p.m.

Hearing from a few folks now that five protesters have been taken into federal custody.

They just opened up the gate to allow even more agents to enter the ICE facility, then unloaded another volley of pepper balls from the rooftops the gate closed.

Today, unhoused residents, advocates, and neighbors called upon the city & Ald. Nugent to halt their plan to tear down tents & other structures tomorrow morning in Legion Park, and to do more to support residents. “We need people who has a heart, a bigger heart.” –Carmen Laude, a park resident.

Albany Park Mutual Aid is accepting donations to help replace supplies and provide temporary housing for residents who face displacement tomorrow.

Just watched ICE hand off three women in shackles to sheriff's officers bound for Clinton County, Indiana.

Still outside the ICE facility. Periodically, neighbors keep driving by and spontaneously joining the evolving group of hecklers. Very small group for now. There's currently a PSL led protest happening up by the Naval Station, and an anti-deportation protest planned for 5pm in downtown Chicago.

so, one of the things I am going to do right now is PUT THIS INTO MY PHONE AS A CONTACT, that way, if I see something I can immediately report it, not fumble around wishing I could find this number, remember the name of the organization, etc.

I’ve had this saved for about a month. Most places have some kind of group to act quickly for people kidnapped by ICE. Find your local group, save their number, if you see someone being arrested try to get the person’s name.

The FSN seeks to cover the whole state, but the rapid response network is more thinly distributed outside Chicagoland than it is in/around Chicago. So the legal services side has pretty good coverage statewide, but live response to ICE sightings is more robust near Chicago than elsewhere in IL.
