Several delays on the rail system, as police officers hold the door open to check TAP cards. This particular delay is as for more than a minute. They aren’t checking the cards themselves, just that people have cards.

Los Angeles, CA - A group of at least two dozen students at Santee Education Complex discussing a walkout. Though lunch period has ended for some, they are sitting near the gate and discussing. Two days ago less than a block away, there was a detainment by federal authorities; the suspect was shot.

East Los Angeles - About an hour ago, a large impromptu celebration of the Dodgers getting into the World Series. There’s still marks from some burnout on the road and detritus from fireworks. Still dozens of LASD and CHP cruisers lining the neighborhood. “Wait till next week,” one deputy told me.

El Segundo, CA - An explosion and flames erupting at a Chevron refinery in El Segundo. Shelter-in-place orders were in effect nearby for several hours. The cause of the fire remains unclear currently. Some folks living nearby watched the flames erupt in a break in the fence atop their vehicle.

BWV video: 8/10/25: LAPD responded to a radio call at a residence in the 500 block of Kensington Road. The comments of the call indicated a restraining order was on file and the suspect, Jeffrey Mayorga. They shoot him with “less lethals.” He was transported to hospital for head injuries.

According to @unraveledpress.com , their reporter Steve Held has been detained during a protest near Chicago, Illinois. Steve is a fantastic reporter, a very good man and doesn’t deserve to be harassed doing his job.

Wheaton, IL - A vigil for Charlie Kirk held in a suburb of Chicago. Located in a town probably most famous for Wheaton College, the “Harvard of Evangelical Schools,” hundreds attended. About 10 protesters arrived, though things stayed to verbal confrontations.
