It's great that reporting on the double tap has spotlighted the abject criminality of this Administration. But don't forget: Venezuela is not waging war on America or Americans, and the men killed were not combatants. The first strike was every bit as illegal as the second.

What does it say about this country that that the kind of open, rank bigotry Trump administration officials regularly express towards black immigrants apparently has no social cost because of the number of Americans who quietly agree or don't care.

TN07 is a story about gerrymandering: the GOP cracked Nashville into 3 districts when it redrew the 2022 map, destroying the Dem seat there. Fast-forward: a section of Nashville, which just 5 years ago had a Dem representative, is now voting Dem by huge margins but it's been designed to not matter.

4/ Some thought it might have moved on the wind, not just because of biosecurity failures. To try and understand this better, I built out a list of 200+ chicken and turkey farms in the 12-mile radius that USDA establishes around an outbreak to look for where else the virus may have spread.

3/ I was able to trace the outbreak using genomic data sampled from the farms with infected poultry. This data told another story: hens in one egg farm got infected, and then the contagion spread from there, lighting up one of the most poultry-dense areas of the country within weeks.
