Like fauna responding to dangers not yet visible to humanity. Of *course* Miyazaki, the preeminent studier and depicter of life, whose art emerges from his sense of social responsibility, would intuitively grasp the crisis such a deeply inhuman - and more importantly unalive - system represents.

I keep returning to Miyazaki’s response to “AI animation” all the way back in 2016, years before public access/primetime, declaring it “An insult to life itself” within minutes Struck how the absolute moral clarity of that impression still resonates today, unlike this so called Generative effort.

I think about that Miyazaki clip a lot, about how his visceral response was that what he was being shown was both inhuman and inhumane—an affront to both the artist and to human dignity.
