The controversy over the Charity & Sylvia GNs has raised many issues about historical research and how non fiction GNs should handle citations, but the idea that it is a "rip off" is grossly unfair to Tillie Walden. I picked up a galley at ALA and this is 250 pages of densely reimagined storytelling

I ave to stress what a huge accomplishment this is. Normally people will go to something that's free no matter how wretched. But even the marks must see how barren this squalid carbuncle is on what should have been a great celebration of America.

After all this talk for years from Fox News about "radical judges overturning the original Constituion" we now have actual activist judges overturning the original Constitution. And you'll never guess what side they're on!

Court can't go on like this. The Constitution as plainly as possible says people who were born here have an unequivocal right to citizenship. Four people whose ONLY job is to read the Constitution for the rest of their lives just tried to overturn it because they're tired of brown people. Pack it.

The plain language of the 14th amendment is incontrovertible. This should have been 9-0. The fact that it was not, supports court expansion and, frankly, impeachment of the conservative justices.

This is terrifying and gives you an idea of how little this court follows actual written law in the constitution. Only fucking John Roberts can read the 14th amendment.

There's an entire cottage industry that's developed around being intensely hateful toward female led supe/action movies. They're held to impossible standards on purpose, subjectivity doesn't exist, and then the ragebait grift begins.
